On the 29th of February 2012, the College Football Association of Ireland in partnership with the FAI, ITT Dublin and Senior College Dun Laoghaire, Tallaght Stadium and SARI, staged a massive charity penalty marathon to celebrate the associations 40th year.

A massive 1,401 participants from several local schools, colleges and businesses took part.

This number has smashed the previous record of 742 and Ray Houghton was the man who stuck the 743rd ball in the net

The event was in aid of The National Children’s Hospital Tallaght and Sports Against Racism Ireland (SARI).

The CFAI would like to acknowledge the tremendous support and encouragement which was shown by the local schools, public representatives,  local authorities and agencies, without which the event would not be possible.
